Developing the concept and delivering the live experience at the Barbican centre we brought to life the first phase of #TheMakersProject that went live October 2023, with spoken-word performances from musician Michael Kiwanuke, Tishk Barzanji and The Balvenie's own Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE.
Each of our makers were invited to share a letter they had written to their younger self, revealing their creative journey, inspirations and what craftsmanship means to them. It was a celebration of the intrinsic values and process of making to inspire a new generation of makers.
We built an informal theater and gallery space, and installed bars in the Conservatory space for guests to enjoy the signature serve of handcrafted single malt scotch whiskey, amid the tropical sanctuary.
